Specialized Care When You Need It Most

Wilmington Maternal Fetal Medicine provides specialized care for women with non-routine pregnancies.  With over 25 years combined maternal fetal medicine experience, a team of high risk obstetric sonographers, board certified nurse practitioners and genetic counselors, and diabetic educators, we bring the highest quality evidence-based maternal and fetal care to southeastern North Carolina, including Wilmington and Jacksonville.  Our practice is the only practice in the region accredited by the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine in both Obstetrics/Gynecology and Fetal Echocardiogram.

The team at WMFM are excited to announce that Dr. Alissa Carver will be joining our practice in April 2023!  Dr. Carver is a world class Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist.  We are thrilled to have her bring her clinical expertise to our group as we continue to provide high quality care to mothers and babies in the region!

COVID-19 Update (January 2023)

We are doing everything possible to keep you safe during this time.  Due to the recommended precautions regarding Covid-19 we are currently allowing only 1 adult visitor to accompany the patient to their appointment.  Thank you for your help in keeping you and all of our patients safe.

ACOG and SMFM recommend that pregnant, postpartum, and lactating people and those considering pregnancy receive the COVID-19 vaccination. Vaccination is the best method to reduce maternal and fetal complications of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

The CDC issued updated guidance for individuals to receive a booster shot at least 6 months after their primary series, based on their individual benefits and risks.

Pregnancy is an underlying medical condition that warrants vaccination.
